James Bay Grabs iTunes Spotlight With “Let It Go”

JAMES BAY’s new single “Let It Go” is this weeks iTunes’ latest “Single of the Week” (iTunes.com/JamesBay). Available as a free download for seven days starting Tuesday August 12, 2014, “Let It Go” is the title track of the UK singer-songwriter’s universally lauded EP, Let It Go, available through all online partners via Republic Records now.

The song is emblematic of BAY’s songwriting chops, dynamic vocal range, and impactful sense of soul. Each of the six times “Let It Go” was spun on the BBC’s Radio 1, it became the “most Shazam’ed track in the world” in real-time. Daily, more and more listeners continue to enthusiastically embrace it. Huw Stephens of BBC Radio 1 even noted during one of the broadcasts “Tonight’s Next Hype is 23 year old singer James Bay….remember the name.”

American press has fallen in love with “Let It Go” as well. BAY hails from the tiny town of Hitchin, but he cut his teeth during rapturous sets at London’s famed Blue Flowers Club as well as Notting Hill Arts Club in addition to supporting both Laura Mvula and Rae Morris. It was at one of these very performances that a fan filmed his set and shared the video on YouTube. The video quickly caught the attention of Republic Records who ended up flying BAY to New York and signing him on the spot.
