Jacob Whiteside Offers A Piece Of Me On Valentine’s Day
JACOB WHITESIDES’ FANS WILL GET A PIECE OF HIM THIS VALENTINE’S DAY WHEN HE RELEASES HIS A PIECE OF ME EP ON FEBRUARY 14, 2015
SEVENTEEN YEAR OLD SINGER / SONGWRITER RELEASES FIRST EP OF ORIGINAL SONGS AHEAD OF SELECT ACOUSTIC HEADLINE DATES AND SOLD OUT TOUR WITH FIFTH HARMONY
Seventeen year-old singer/songwriter, Jacob Whitesides will release his first EP of original songs, A Piece Of Me, on February 14, 2015 and in a an age where most of his peers are releasing albums through major labels, Whitesides has chosen to release his, on his own, and through his own JW Records label for his fans. With its title voted on in only a few hours by nearly 150,000 of his Twitter followers, and saw him occupy three of the top four trending spots during that time, Whitesides has been slowly revealing the track listing to his over 1.42 million fans on Twitter.
The six song EP showcases his musical depth through the five original tracks he co-wrote, “Billboard (If I’m Honest)’” “Let’s Be Birds,” “Rumors,” “Ohio,” “Not My Type At All” along with, “Words,” which was released last November.
Whitesides’ mass appeal is undeniable and tells the story of an artist who has built a following entirely on his own and is deeply routed in his connection with his ever-growing international fan base. That fan base has skyrocketed to 1.42 million Twitter followers, increasing by roughly 20,0000 per week, almost 1.3 million Facebook likes, almost 900,000 Instagram fans, almost 700,000 Vine subscribers and over 10 million views on YouTube.
From his humble beginnings in Eastern Tennessee, Whitesides’ love for music began with listening to John Mayer who’s first release came out when Whitesides was only four years old. It’s only been just a few short years since Whitesides first taught himself how to play guitar and found the courage to sing and write. Now, he will bring his new original music to his fans with the release of A Piece Of Me. The tracks show his depth as a singer, songwriter, guitarist and lyricist, showing maturity well beyond his years with lyrics that speak directly to his enormous fan base.
Whitesides will be taking those new songs on the road as he headlines several acoustic dates to celebrate the release of his fan-titled EP. The tour will begin in his hometown of Knoxville, TN February 15, 2015. He will then go on to serve as direct support for the already sold out Fifth Harmony tour beginning February 27, 2015 in San Francisco, CA (all dates below).
