Pandora (NYSE: P), the leading internet radio service, has partnered with Jack White and Third Man Records to livestream White’s sold out Madison Square Garden show on Friday, January 30th at 9 PM EST. In anticipation of the livestream, Third Man Records has curated a digital mixtape for Pandora listeners which is available now via the special Jack White Live Pandora station: pandora.com/JackWhiteLive or by searching Jack White Live in the Pandora mobile/tablet app. White’s first solo show at Madison Square Garden also marks the first time Pandora has worked with a single artist to stream a live performance.
Following a triumphant headline performance at the 2014 Governors Ball, Jack White returns to New York City to headline the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden, as part of the extensive Lazaretto world tour. Released on June 10, 2014, Lazaretto (Third Man Records/Columbia) was White’s second album to debut at #1 in the U.S., following 2012’s highly acclaimed and #1 debut Blunderbuss. Lazaretto was recently named iTunes Best Rock Album of 2014 and has been nominated for three GRAMMY awards, including Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance.
The Madison Square Garden show is a unique opportunity for Pandora listeners to experience Jack White’s widely praised live performances, regardless of where they are. This show is the latest example of the ongoing efforts by Pandora to connect its artists and listeners, having released its Artist Marketing Platform (AMP) late last year.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Jack White — the foremost rock star of his generation playing the world’s most famous arena — on our first-ever single-artist streaming event. Pandora is committed to helping artists leverage the company’s unmatched scale and connection to listeners, and this embodies that commitment,” said Lars Murray, Pandora’s Senior Vice President Music Industry Group.
How to listen:
The Madison Square Garden show will stream live at 9 PM EST/6 PM PST on Friday, January 30 and will be rebroadcast afterward on a continuous loop for 72 hours for listeners in the U.S. On February 3, U.S. listeners will be able to hear it all again via a track-by-track archive without a limit on the number of times you listen to a track, along with an exclusive video interview with Jack conducted by The Daily Show’s Jordan Klepper. Individual live recordings from the show will also be added to the Pandora library for listeners in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand.
