Mike Ragogna: That brings us to do you have any advice for new artists?
Hugh Laurie: The only advice that I can give for this absurd entertainment business is completely useless, and that is to be lucky. I can’t think of any other way of doing it. Be lucky and be patient because you think that your life is being decided hour by hour, but in actual fact, things look very different a year later, they look very different a month later, and sometimes, they even look very different a week later. If you’re just patient and you hang in and plug away, things happen. I was lucky enough to have it happen to me, but I think patience is one of the most important qualities you can have in this business.
