IT’S TIME FOR ROUND TWO!
Heavy metal legend Philip Anselmo and best-selling true crime author Corey Mitchell’s groundbreaking horror-meets-metal extravaganza, the Housecore™ Horror Film Festival, already released a slew of jaw-dropping additions to this year’s lineup, and have now returned with an even bigger announcement. They are very proud to welcome on board the legendary Glenn Danzig, who will treat fans to a U.S. exclusive combined headline performance of immortal classics from both DANZIG AND SAMHAIN!
It’s all going down at Emo’s in Austin, TX between the unhallowed dates of October 23-26, 2014.
Anselmo stated of his good friend Danzig, “Glenn has taken me under his (black) wings since I was a young upstart in the music (horror) business and he’s a cool mofo!”
Danzig, a longtime horror enthusiast, has expressed his affection for the genre for more than 35 years via his various groundbreaking horror-themed musical acts The Misfits, Samhain, and his eponymous solo project, Danzig. In addition, the horrortrepeneur darkens the minds of impressionable folks with his subversive underground horror comic book publishing company, Verotik, which includes titles like Satanika and Grub Girl.
But that’s not all!
We’ve also confirmed the mighty NEUROSIS, who will bring their monolithic slabs of crushing catharsis to HHFF’s stage for a rare and exclusive performance. They will be joined by Polish death metal icons DECAPITATED, old-school Australian thrash titans HOBBS’ ANGEL OF DEATH, and the Godfather of dark ambient himself, LUSTMORD. This performance will mark Lustmord’s fourth show ever in the United States in his more than 30-year career. He has also worked with The Melvins, Tool, Puscifer, Isis, Coil, to name but a few, and is known as a sound designer on several films including cult classics THE CROW and UNDERWORLD.
In addition, attendees can expect to be bludgeoned by a horde of bloody upstarts…

This outstanding collection of heavy metal’s best and baddest will be joined by plenty of others, including a few more heavy hitters that will blow your mind straight out the back of your skull. There’s plenty more on the way to please the full-on film buffs and horror freaks, too. We’ve already announced a jaw-dropping film event to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the most important film in Texas history, THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE. Not one, not two, but ALL of the living members of the main cast have agreed to appear at HHFF ’14, including Leatherface himself!
In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for the last round of announcements which will include a few more headliners, and more film news!
