Highasakite Plays “School Night!”

Highasakite Return to US this November to Perform at Several Communion Club Nights & One of LA’s “School Night!” Shows

Norway’s Highasakite are returning to the US this November to play several Communion Club Nights including November 4th at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC, November 5th at Gypsy Sally’s in DC and November 6th at Philly’s Underground Arts Club. In addition, on November 10th they will be performing at one of LA’s infamous “School Night!” shows at club Bardot and presented by KCRW’s Chris Douridas and MFG. The November stateside dates come after an incredibly busy summer for the band in Europe with numerous main stage performances in Norway, UK and Germany, including one at Norway’s Øya festival, where Highasakite played to 12,000 enthusiastic fans.

While the band was overseas wowing fans in their own country and beyond this summer, US fans were treated to a couple of very special performances they did when they were here last May. Most recently on July 25th NPR’s All Songs Considered illustrious “Tiny Desk Concert” posted with the show’s host Bob Boilen writing, “My first time seeing this Norwegian band was at a fairly soulless convention center in Austin, Texas. They transformed that big, open room into an intimate affair. So having them perform at the Tiny Desk, an already intimate space, was a thrill.” Watch below.

In addition, Highasakite were invited to perform their single “Since Last Wednesday” for Vogue. A very exclusive affair, they filmed this in Vogue.com music writer Jacob Brown’s living room.

Highasakite – Ingrid Helene Håvik (zither, steel drum, vocal), Trond Bersu (drums), Øystein Skar (synths), Marte Eberson (synths), and Kristoffer Lo (guitar) – has been touring since earlier this year in support of their debut US album Silent Treatment which was released on Propeller Recordings/InKind Music on April 8th. The band spent the spring in US on an extremely successful tour as main support for London Grammar, they had several noteworthy SXSW performance, they returned to the US in May for a handful of headlining dates and they are thrilled to be here again in November for several Communion Club Nights.
