THE TALKHOUSE LAUNCHES PODCAST
CARRIE BROWNSTEIN (SLEATER-KINNEY, PORTLANDIA) TALKS WITH HAMILTON LEITHAUSER (THE WALKMEN)
LISTEN: via The Talkhouse or iTunes
In this podcast from the acclaimed music site The Talkhouse, Hamilton Leithauser, formerly the lead singer of the Walkmen, talks with Carrie Brownstein (Wild Flag, Sleater-Kinney, Portlandia) not just about Leithauser’s outstanding new album Black Hours and the joys of going solo, but also lame horn sections, working with Rostam from Vampire Weekend, singing when your voice is shot, and people eating hotdogs while they watch you play. There’s even a preview of Leithauser’s hilarious upcoming Talkhouse piece about bodily injury. Says Talkhouse editor-in-chief Michael Azerrad, “it’s the perfect Talkhouse experience: a fascinating conversation that only two musicians could have.”

About The Talkhouse
In March 2013, noted music journalist Michael Azerrad launched an exciting new online music magazine called the Talkhouse, where smart, notable musicians of all genres and generations write about currently released albums. The site features one piece on one album written by one musician each day, five days a week. On weekends, the site features a long-form music feature written by artists across many genres: film, comedy, literature, etc. Each day, the artist writing the piece and the artist whose album is being written about each get a log-in to the site and are able to have a one-on-one public dialogue in the comment section, which is updated in real time. For the weekend feature pieces, any artist with a log-in can weigh in with their thoughts on the piece.
