The Griswolds’ Be Impressive Released

THE GRISWOLDS DEBUT ALBUM
BE IMPRESSIVE OUT NOW ON WIND-UP RECORDS

Premiered at #2 on New Artist Alternative and #7 on Heatseekers Charts!

Australian indie rock band The Griswolds’ debut album BE IMPRESSIVE came out last week on Wind-up Records, with an “impressive” start, peaking at #5 on the iTunes Alternative Chart, #2 on New Artist Alternative Soundscan Chart, and #7 on the Heatseekers Chart. The album was produced by Tony Hoffer, best known for his work with M83, Beck, and Fitz & The Tantrums. The release was celebrated last week at a very packed and raucous party and performance at Converse Rubber Tracks Studio in Brooklyn. The album release is coming off the back of the band’s recent radio hit for their track “Beware The Dog”, currently sitting at #16 on the Alternative Radio Charts. The song is getting played at some of the biggest stations in North America, like KROQ in LA, SF’s LIVE 105 and 101 WKQX in Chicago, as well as reaching the #1 on SirusXM station Alt Nation’s “The Alt 18.”

In other great news, Best Buy selected the band for their Find Em’ First program which highlights new and emerging artists. The band also finished in the top 3 in Spotify’s Emerge campaign, which is earned by user shares, new followers, unique listener per day, and individual streams. Past winners include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Bastille and Atlas Genius and the program is a great indicator for who will break out next.

The Griswolds formed almost three years ago by singer/guitarist Christopher Whitehall and lead guitarist Daniel Duque-Perez, and joined by bassist Tim John and keyboard / percussionist Lachlan West. The Griswolds were thrown into the spotlight immediately after they found instant success in early 2012 when they became Australia’s Triple J “Unearthed” feature artist and won a slot on the 2012 Parklife Festival lineup alongside Passion Pit. They have gone on to play Oz’s Big Day Out Festival, and have toured with St Lucia, San Cisco, Django Django among others. The band made their SXSW debut at this year’s festival and quickly named the band to watch by Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, AU Review, The Atlantic. They band is finishing up their current North American tour, which included dates with Miniature Tigers and their own t headlining shows, with sold out crowds in Albany and Burlington, VT. They’re headed back to Australia for headlining dates in October, but will be back over here later in the Fall.
