GORGON CITY’S DEBUT ALBUM SIRENS TO BE RELEASED STATESIDE
OCTOBER 7 ON PRIORITY/CAPITOL RECORDS

PRE-ORDER LIVE ON ITUNES TODAY WITH THREE INSTANT GRAT TRACKS

PERFORMING AT ELECTRIC ZOO ON AUGUST 29 IN NEW YORK

Rising UK dance duo Gorgon City has announced the U.S. release of their anticipated debut album Sirens, on October 7 on Priority/Capitol Records. The full-length is available for pre-order starting today on iTunes with LP tracks “Ready For Your Love” ft. MNEK, “Here For You” ft. Laura Welsh, and “Unmissable” ft. Zak Able as instant grats with purchase. The seventeen-song collection properly introduces us to the duo’s signature production techniques, perfectly marrying stunning performances from their collaborators with the resonance of deep house. Sirens is a full-bodied musical journey narrated by lush synths, percussive deep bass, and addictive choruses that feature tracks from sultry songstresses Jennifer Hudson and Katy B, as well as buzzing Swedish artist Erik Hassle. The album even includes a reworking of Drake’s hit “Doing It Wrong.”

Gorgon City burst onto the electronic music scene earlier this year with breakout single “Ready For Your Love” featuring and co-written by MNEK, which went to #4 on the UK Singles chart and garnered praise from the likes of The New York Times and Pitchfork in the States. Hailing from the impressive Black Butter camp (Rudimental, Kidnap Kid), the pair is one of the most compelling and hotly-tipped new acts in the ever-flourishing landscape of British club pop.

Most recently, Gorgon City was the first-ever dance act to be chosen by Vevo, for its emerging artist platform, LIFT in the UK. Specifically for this program, the duo recorded a stripped-down version of their chart-topping second single, “Here For You” featuring Laura Welsh. The original version of the beat-laden track received widespread acclaim including THE FADER, who declared it to be “… a romantic, large-scale dance track that sounds tailor-tweaked for a daytime party … when the track drops out into its fizzy, deep, vocal house form, it feels like anything can happen.” Current single “Unmissable,” co-written by Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith, Disclosure) and featuring Zak Able, recently made its debut on Vice’s Noisey. The dancefloor-ready jam also made Vulture’s “Best New Music of The Week” list who anointed the song “a throbbing dancefloor/ballad hybrid” and added, “This could be Gorgon City’s ‘Latch,’ the thing it takes to break the boys stateside.” View behind the scenes studio footage of the choir featured in “Unmissable” here.

About Gorgon City:
Gorgon City is comprised of North London producers Matt and Kye. Their already-distinctive sound is a logical development of the duo’s individual work as RackNRuin and Foamo. Gorgon City offered up a platform for the two producers to fuse the deeper sounds they’ve been excited by for years and now have the opportunity to explore together. Polished, powerful and party-minded, their sound very quickly caught the attention of tastemakers as disparate as; Skrillex, Zeds Dead, Disclosure, and Steve Aioki with their early explorations into this new venture. Gorgon City has been on a steady rise on both sides of the Atlantic since the release of their Crypt and Real EPs and impressive performances at this year’s Coachella, SXSW, and Miami’s Winter Music Conference. More recently, the duo played primetime sets at Hard Summer and Outside Lands and will perform at Electric Zoo on August 29 in New York City. Additionally, Gorgon City will embark on a 14-date North American tour this October.
