Godsmack Hits #1 On Rock Album Chart

GODSMACK LAND AT #3 ON BILLBOARD TOP 200 WITH 1000HP, #1 ROCK ALBUM IN THE COUNTRY

PREMIERE “1000hp” MUSIC VIDEO ON SHAZAM

EMBARK ON ROCKSTAR ENERGY UPROAR FESTIVAL

GODSMACK rode right to the top with their sixth full-length album, 1000hp [Republic Records]. The record landed at #3 on the Billboard Top 200, capturing their sixth Top 10 album debut, and #1 on Billboard’s Rock Albums Chart. Meanwhile the title track and first single “1000hp” has launched to #1 at Rock radio – capturing their 7th #1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart and solidifying 1000hp as the official the #1 rock album in the country.

Yesterday, the group premiered their new music video for “1000hp” on Shazam. Watch it HERE! It’s another captivating and high-octane cinematic rager from GODSMACK which gives homage to their rise to fame-showing never before seen behind the scenes and concert footage of their early days as a group and shows the power of their performance.

Last week, Boston’s Mayor Martin J. Walsh honored the band at the city’s Newbury Comics store with hundreds of fans. Proclaiming August 6th “Godsmack Day” in recognition of their Boston heritage and longstanding success within the music industry and presented each member with an official proclamation honoring the day. In return the group gifted him one of their official tour jackets which he proudly wore throughout the event. Fans that purchased the album earlier in the day had a chance to meet the band at Newbury Comics which was the first store to ever carry Godsmack’s album.

1000hp continues to rev up critics and tastemakers as well. In a 3-out-of-4 star review USA Today wrote, “GODSMACK has lost none of its pile-driving power”, while The Boston Globe described it as, “leaner and meaner, and a bit nostalgic, too”. Billboard rightfully claimed, “Hell hath no fury like GODSMACK”, and Radio.com added, “GODSMACK exude an unabashed American toughness, which nowadays seems largely absent on the modern tracks”. Loudwire praised their “rejuvenated fury”, and ARTISTdirect.com called it, “the best hard rock record of the year”.

The band will hit the road on August 15 headlining the Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival, and continue into the fall with their own headlining tour. See full dates below.

To date, GODSMACK have notched a staggering now seven number one singles on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart, including “Awake”, “Straight Out of Line”, “Cryin’ Like A Bitch”, and “I Stand Alone”. Moreover, they’ve enjoyed 21 Top 10 hits at the format—the most of any act since February 1999 as well as four Grammy nominations, and winner of Billboard Music Awards Rock Artist of the Year in 2001. Selling over 20 million records worldwide, the band has also unleashed three consecutive albums at #1 on the Billboard Top 200—namely Faceless [2003], IV [2006], and The Oracle[2010]. This places them in league with Van Halen, U2, Metallica, Dave Matthews Band, and Linkin Park who have also enjoyed the same streak. Moreover, the accomplishment on the road remains staggering with headlining sets everywhere from Mayhem and UPROAR to Rock on the Range.
