Mike Ragogna: Glen, I also wanted to ask you if you have any advice for new artists?

Glen Hansard: Serve your art. (laughs) It’s about good work. We might put a lot of emphasis on social networking and marketing, but all of that stuff happens naturally when you’re making good work. If you’re making good work, the world starts coming to you. I don’t mean that you don’t have to do anything. I just mean that you have to remain open. Just concentrate on the poem and not the audience’s reaction to it.
