Mike Ragogna: Which brings us to what advice might you have for new artists?

Gary Rossington: You know what, it’s such a different climate and atmosphere coming up. It’s totally different with the internet and YouTube and American Idol and all kinds of things. Just work hard, and make sure you get somebody in the business who knows how to take care of your business, because it’s all business now. The fun and the sport of it, and the groovy times and having a part, are over. It’s more serious music and serious attitudes. You can go onstage and leave that behind and just play for the people and have fun, but the business is serious, so watch your back.
