An Evening of Music, Comedy, And Gun Sense at The Echoplex in Los Angeles on Tuesday November 18, 2014. Doors open at 7PM PST. Jenny Lewis and Kurt Braunohler are the latest additions to this all-star line up.

Fun Lovers Unite! An Evening of Music, Comedy, And Gun Sense will benefit Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in American, a project of Everytown for Gun Safety, the country’s largest gun violence prevention organization. Each performer on the bill, as well as the venue itself, is donating the performance to this life-saving cause and is proud to stand with fellow comedians and musicians in solidarity to raise awareness for common sense gun violence prevention efforts and the elected officials who stand up for the safety of our communities.

The event is being produced by two friends on each of the coasts, Joshua Mills in Los Angeles and Maccabee Montandon in Brooklyn, who are both dads of young children and who want to do something about the epidemic of gun violence in America. Montandon’s brother Asher was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in 1992.

“Music and comedy are powerful ways to reach people – we are so grateful to the performers who will use their talents to bring people together, educate them on the problem of gun violence and ask them to take action to save lives,” said Montandon. “Gun violence is often a hard issue to talk about –this event is a way to let people know we are all human, we can crack a few smiles while also trying to raise awareness for a serious issue. Fun Lovers Unite is just one example of the grassroots momentum across this country calling for gun sense.”

About Fun Lovers Unite!

Fun Lovers Unite! is a first-ever live music and comedy event dedicated to raising awareness and action for common-sense gun violence prevention efforts and the elected officials who stand up for the safety of our communities. The event is being produced by two friends on each coast, Joshua Mills in Los Angeles and Maccabee Montandon in Brooklyn; they are both dads of young children who want to do more to prevent gun violence in America. Josh felt sickened and then galvanized following the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in 2012. Mac’s brother, Asher, was murdered with a gun during an attempted robbery in Los Angeles in 1992.
