Frozen’s Idina Menzel Performs At Radio City Music Hall
TONY AWARD-WINNING ACTRESS, SINGER AND STAR OF FROZEN, IF/THEN, WICKED AND GLEE
IDINA MENZEL
PERFORMING LIVE AT RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL JUNE 16 FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY
(April 30, 2014) – Hot on the heels of a Best Actress Tony nomination for role in the Broadway musical If/Then, recent covers of both Billboard and Variety magazines, and a performance heard round the world of the blockbuster song “Let It Go” at the 86th Academy Awards, superstar Idina Menzel announced today a one-night-only performance, and her only planned concert this year, at New York City’s famed Radio City Music Hall on Monday, June 16. This will be Menzel’s first time performing at the historic venue and the show marks Menzel’s first New York City concert performance since her sold out show last year at Carnegie Hall.
Tickets for the performance, presented as part of the Chase Visa Concert Series, go on sale to the general public Monday, May 5 at 10am EST at http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/1D004C9687B69C2B. More information is available at www.idinamenzel.com.
Known for her show-stopping performances, Menzel leads audiences through a special journey of classic pop, musical theater favorites, and her own personal catalogue. The concert weaves together Menzel’s irresistible charm, wit, and unparalleled vocal prowess. Recently called “the Streisand of her generation” by the Denver Post, the show reflects Menzel’s musical and life influences and has captivated audiences at sold-out concerts around the world.
Menzel was recently honored at Variety’s inaugural Power of Women NY event for her work with A BroaderWay, the foundation she co-created in 2010 that is dedicated to offering girls from urban communities an outlet for self-expression and creativity through arts-centered programs. Menzel, the voice of Elsa in Disney’s Frozen, made history as the first Tony Award winner to have a song in the Billboard Top 10 when the film’s Oscar-winning and multi-platinum song “Let it Go” soared through the charts. Frozen has since gone on to become the highest-grossing animated movie of all time.
Menzel currently stars as Elizabeth in the original Broadway musical If/Then, which is also nominated for the Tony for Best Original Score. Her performance has garnered great acclaim with New York Magazine praising she “sings beyond anyone’s idea of reasonable vocal or emotional limits… She blows the roof off of the theatre” while Variety describes her as having a “tear-the-house-down voice and commanding personality”. Entertainment Weekly raves “she can shake the rafters and pierce your heart all at once” and The Hollywood Reporter supports there’s “no mystery as to why the audience adores her.”
American Express Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning on Thursday, May 1st at 10 am EST through Sunday, May 4 at 10 pm EST.
