Five Knives Brings FVKNVS
FIVE KNIVES TO RELEASE FULL-LENGTH DEBUT ALBUM, FVKNVS, ON MAY 19 LIVE PERFORMANCES CONFIRMED Electronic-pop band Five Knives will release their debut album, FVKNVS, on May 19 via Red Bull Records. The new album, produced by Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons), contains 13 tracks of bombastic, heart-skipping raw electronic bursts wrapped in pop hooks, all delivered with with the power and energy of a live band. Five Knives will perform tracks from the new album in their hometown of Nashville on March 17 at Midtown Pot of Gold, and in Austin next month during the Red Bull Records Spring Breakdown party on March 19 and at the Red Gorilla Music Fest on March 21. The four-piece will bring the dance party on beaches of Gulf Shores, AL when they perform at Hangout Festival in mid-May. On the heels of two Top 10 Billboard Dance hits, Five Knives have released their new single “Savages.” Beginning March 5, EDM Network (www.edm.com) will run a “Savages” remix contest via Soundcloud, allowing up-and-coming and established producers alike to put their own spin on the dance-ready anthem. The contest will live on the band’s website at www.fiveknives.com/savages. In addition, Five Knives’ “Savages” BitTorrent Bundle will be available starting March 6. The bundle will include the Pretty Lights remix of “Savages,” the Grammy-nominated remix of “The Rising” by Eddie Amador, remixes of the high-energy track “Sugar” from UZ and Jauz, and the original version of Five Knives’ Top 5 Billboard Dance hit “Sugar.” Comprised of singer Anna M’Queen, guitarist/programmer Nathan Barlowe, guitarist/programmer Zach Hall and drummer Shane Wise, Five Knives formed in 2012 and have quickly advanced from secret password basement shows in their hometown of Nashville to performing at Winter Music Conference and most recently, touring with Icona Pop. The band’s song “The Rising,” from their 2012 EP of the same name, was nominated for a Grammy for the category of Best Remix Recording (remixer Eddie Amador). “We are songwriters who love the high energy of electronic music. What sets us apart is that we’re crafting songs with a full band, infusing our pop, alternative and electronic influences. We deliver a live show that bridges the gap between a rock band and a DJ set,” says M’Queen.
