The Everymen’s “NJHC” Appears

THE EVERYMEN STAGE NEW JERSEY-WIDE PREMIERE OF “NJHC” VIDEO,

AN ODE TO THEIR HOME STATE

ANNOUNCE NEW TOUR DATES

Ernest Jenning Record Co. is proud to share the video for “NJHC” from The Everymen‘s 2014 full-length Givin’ Up On Free Jazz. The video — a paean to their home state of New Jersey that culminates in a list of almost every famous Jerseyan — was released in a one-of-a-kind premiere via many of New Jersey’s most prominent entertainment outlets and institutions. Sites like Asbury LanesCool Dad Music, Hoboken411, Jersey Beat, New Jersey Stage, NJArts.net, Pop-BreakSignal To Noise, Speak Into My Good EyeThe Saint and You Don’t Know Jersey all took part in the premiere.

The group has also announced a string of tour dates with Amigo, Gnarly Davidson and Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires at varying points. These dates begin on March 5 at North Star Bar in Philadelphia, PA before heading to SXSW and concluding on April 18 at The Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY. The full list of tour dates can be found below, with more to be announced soon.

Where New Jersey Hardcore was the work of one man flanked by occasional co-conspirators, Givin’ Up On Free Jazz is the fully-formed execution of a band just hitting its stride. From modern takes on girl-group send-ups to Springsteen-esque walls of sound, from full-throttle odes to eternal love to hushed piano bar intimacy, it’s an album as varied as it is focused, all while sounding singularly Everymen. With engineering from Tom Unish, mixing by John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth), mastering by Paul Gold (LCD Soundsystem, Animal Collective) and a guest appearance from The New Pornographers’ A.C. Newman, The Everymen clearly enlisted the right folks to capture their sound on Free Jazz.

Since forming in 2009, The Everymen have quickly built a rock solid resume thanks to their tireless average of over 100 shows a year, and a reputation as one of the hardest working and most exciting live bands around.

Standing as many as nine members strong, The Everymen are reminiscent of the E Street band in stature, Rocket From the Crypt in searing energy, Meat Loaf in production and The Replacements in boozy, backroom party vibes.
