Music Icon Eric Clapton Celebrates 70th Birthday with Two Shows at Madison Square Garden

Concerts Mark 46 Years Since Clapton’s First Appearance at Storied Venue
Eric Clapton announced today two concert dates in celebration of his upcoming 70th birthday on March 30, 2015. The shows will take place at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden May 1st and 2nd, 2015. This will mark the 46th anniversary since Eric Clapton, with the band Cream, opened the “new” Madison Square Garden on November 2, 1968. Clapton has performed more times at Madison Square Garden than any other U.S. venue, a total of 45 times. The show will feature Eric, accompanied by his band members Paul Carrack, Steve Gadd, Nathan East, Chris Stainton, Sharon White and Michelle John, with opening support act Andy Fairweather Low and the Low Riders.
Eric Clapton and Chase are excited to continue their partnership. Exclusively, Chase credit and debit customers will receive advance access to purchase tickets prior to the general public on sale. Tickets go on-sale Monday, March 16 at 11am to Chase cardholders at www.ticketmaster.com. General on-sale begins Friday, March 20 at 11am.
After his time with the Yardbirds in 1963, Clapton began a career as a professional musician that has seen numerous bands, an abundance of albums, countless worldwide sold out shows, an impressive array of accolades, unwavering critical acclaim and his consistent display of legendary guitar work. These concerts will mark his return to the stage after his limited global tour in 2014 which included a headlining set at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and shows in Japan, Singapore, UAE, Bahrain, UK, Germany, Austria and Poland.
