Mike Ragogna: You set up the next question perfectly. What advice do you have for new artists?
Emmy Wildwood: Oh, my gosh. Okay, so I tell myself this all the time because I’m constantly hitting roadblocks. There are always problems. There are two things: The first is to just keep swimming, just keep going. I think that’s Finding Nemo, right? But just keep swimming. There are days that I end up in tears because I’m so frustrated with not being able to get something figured out and that brings me to the next thing that I tell myself and that I tell other people, which is stop worrying about the problem and get to work on the problem. Don’t stop working on it. Figure it out. You just have to keep going and keep working. If you’re working on what you love doing and it’s a labor of love, it’s going to be worth it. There’s nothing more satisfying than achieving the goal. I put my goals up in little pieces, one thing at a time. “How am I going to get what I need to get done today done?” That’s really it. And being inspired! Always look for new inspiration, growing yourself, growing your art, trying to be better every day is something that will always help you grow and become a better musician.
