Echosmith’s “Cool Kids” Goes Platinum
ECHOSMITH’S HIT SINGLE “COOL KIDS” CERTIFIED PLATINUM
HUGE WEEK AHEAD WITH PERFORMANCES ON THE TONIGHT SHOW, VH1 “YOU OUGHTA KNOW LIVE IN CONCERT,” NICKELODEON HALO AWARDS
Echosmith is in the midst of one of their biggest weeks to date, in a year that’s already taken them from indie darlings to 2014’s breakout success story. Their single “Cool Kids” is certified Platinum, which they celebrated yesterday at Warner Bros. Records headquarters in Burbank, CA, and with the extra celebration of seeing the song performed by Taylor Phelan on last night’s live playoffs of NBC’s The Voice. They’ll play the hit single on NBC’s The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, Nov. 13, and that same night perform at the “VH1 You Oughta Know Live in Concert” event. The band will cap off the week with a sold-out show at New York’s Webster Hall on Friday, Nov. 14, and a performance at the upcoming Nickelodeon HALO Awards, to air on Nov. 30.
2014 has been a complete whirlwind for the LA-based siblings, who started off the year named an MTV “Artist to Watch,” a “Fuse Favorite,” and declared a breakout act of SXSW, to now playing sold-out shows across the country and performing everywhere from Conan and The Today Show to Ellen and The Tonight Show. Echosmith have continued to push themselves forward, touring around the world and gaining fans in the likes of USA Today, Billboard, ELLE, and Rolling Stone – not to mention Katy Perry and Taylor Swift – along the way.
The song that started it all, “Cool Kids,” has now sold over a million copies and continues its chart domination, hitting #8 on the iTunes singles chart, #5 at Hot AC and #9 at Top 40 radio!
The band recently finished touring with the American Authors on the Honda Civic Tour, and they are just wrapping their own sold-out headline run. Last week they announced a 2015 headline tour, which will kick off in February and include stops all over the country. Tickets are on sale now, with a full list of dates below.
The Sierota siblings are Jamie (vocals/guitar), Sydney (vocals/keyboard), Noah (vocals/bass), and Graham (drums).

Esquire:”Okay, first of all, Echosmith are instantly likable. Fresh-faced, but not in a manufactured manner, the four siblings from Los Angeles have a contagious good vibe. And while they may be young – spanning 15 through 21 – they’ve got chops to match the charisma. Rest assured, this is a group you’re going to be hearing about for a long time. Echosmith is the real deal, and so, a rarity.”
Rolling Stone: “Teenage daydreams inspired by new wave angst and California sunshine. . .
Echosmith’s breakout single “Cool Kids” is a back-to-school-season anthem for those feeling disaffected by their peers.”
USA Today: “Charismatic lead vocalist Sydney Sierota, 17, puts a voice to teen alienation.”
TeenVogue: “…an up-and-coming band that we’ve totally fallen for. Echosmith is comprised of four siblings…and they each have a downtown, ’60s rocker vibe that emanates pure cool.”
