The Drums’ Encyclopedia Arrives

THE DRUMS RELEASE VIDEO FOR “I CAN’T PRETEND”

NEW ALBUM ENCYCLOPEDIA OUT NOW!

The Drums released the video for “I Can’t Pretend,” the second single off their new album, Encyclopedia. The fishy visual companion for “I Can’t Pretend” was directed by BRTHR, and shot at Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead, NY and Cliff’s Rendezvous, a local NY classic steakhouse.

The Drums vocalist Jonny Pierce said of working with BRTHR, “Anyone who has ever worked with us knows that Jacob and I are control freaks when it comes to our visuals and so we were pleasantly surprised to find the trustworthy video duo, BRTHR. It was the first time that we completely let go and let someone else take the reigns on a music video. They have exquisite taste and brought the magic of nature to the forefront- an important pillar of the song.”

Alex Lee and Kyle Wightman of BRTHR said of the band, “The Drums are a band we truly identify with and respect. We’ve always supported them from afar, and so when this opportunity came to direct a video for them we gave it our all. It has been inspirational, and this project is a labor of love and a lot of caffeine. We feel that this is just the beginning of some truly genuine, great collaborations.”

Encyclopedia marks the first time since the Summertime! EP that Jacob and Jonny were left to their own devices, without having to ask a soul for approval. The result is an exciting display of personal emotion and unashamed, majestic songwriting style.
