“Dorothy is bringing back the eff you rock mentality that has been absent for far too long.” -Huffington Post
LA-based rock band Dorothy is excited to premiere “The Wicked Ones,” a new track off of their debut EP, exclusively via Billboard.com TODAY. The band gained notoriety earlier this year when Noisey premiered the video for their first single, “After Midnight.”
The traditional bluesy rock vibes that come from the band’s high energy performances makes them a force to be reckoned with on the music scene and a band to watch this year. Says Prefix, “[Dorothy] is a glaringly different emergence from the recent surge of nauseatingly similar indie and post-rock collectives. With bold guitar riffs, heavy-hitting percussion and Martin’s soulful voice, the band seems poised to really make a breakthrough where the music scene has become a bit latent.”
Dorothy (composed of vocalist Dorothy, drummer Zac Morris, guitarist Mark Jackson and bassist Greg Cash) will release their debut EP this fall.
“If anyone’s gonna cut my tongue off, it’s gonna be me,” declares the irreverent lead singer of Dorothy. With ballsy guitar riffs, bold drum patters and whiskey-soaked vocals, Dorothy’s reviving the soulful era of rock & roll that calls for drunken late night partying and more than a few bad decisions that make for good stories. Think Kurt Cobain paired with Janis Joplin. Dorothy sounds like how youth feels.
