DMA’S SIGN TO MOM + POP MUSIC

Australia’s hottest new alternative rock band DMA’s have signed to Mom + Pop Music, ahead of the release of their debut LP later this year. The three-piece joins fellow Aussies Jagwar Ma and Courtney Barnett, as well as FIDLAR, Cloud Nothings, Sleigh Bells and more on the label’s stellar roster. The band were originally signed to Sydney based indie label I OH YOU – part of the Mushroom Group – who will continue to release them in their home territory and Infectious in the UK and the rest of the world.

DMA’s is the musical project of Johnny Took, Matt Mason & Tommy O’Dell – three friends from Newtown, Australia, who began writing and recording demos in Johnny’s bedroom two years ago. Their debut single “Delete” was acclaimed by Blur’s Dave Rowntree on his XFM show as combining “the swagger of Oasis and the musicality and inventiveness of Arctic Monkeys”. In late 2014, DMA’s released the self-produced double A-side 7″ single, “Laced” / “So We Know” to rave reviews and toured Australia, the UK & US.

Expect releases from DMA’s in 2015 with North American tour dates to follow including appearances at this year’s Governor’s Ball and Bonnaroo Music Festivals.
