Dean Alexander Music Goes To Nashville
DEAN ALEXANDER’S “IF YOUR HEART CAN HANDLE IT” FEATURED ON ABC’S “NASHVILLE”
Elektra Records country singer-songwriter Dean Alexander and Streamsound Records recording artist Jaida Dreyer’s song “If Your Heart Can Handle It” will be featured on tomorrow’s episode of ABC’s award-winning series “Nashville”. Fans can get an exclusive look into the songwriting process on today’s “On The Record” episode where Dean and Jaida sat down with actors Chris Carmack (Will Lexington) and Aubrey Peeples (Layla Grant) who will perform the duet. “I had never written a duet in my life, but I had the hook in my hook book, she ran with it and that’s where it all came from,” mentions Dean of composing the duet. The single is available now on iTunes and at ABC.com/MusicLounge and will air on tomorrow night’s episode of “Nashville,” WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
“I’m so honored they chose something I was a part of to be featured on such a great show,” says Dean. “I can’t wait to see the episode tomorrow night!”
About Dean Alexander:
Moving to Nashville in 2003 with only $100 and his guitar, Alexander worked odd jobs while living out of his car and honing his craft on the famous Broadway strip downtown. He found himself landscaping for (the now late) Barbara Orbison where she asked him for a demo CD while, quite literally, he was shoveling manure in her flowers. Within a week, Orbison herself offered him his first publishing deal. Fast forward to the fall of 2010, when Alexander was discovered by award-winning legendary producer Scott Hendricks, which ultimately led to his signing with the Warner Music Nashville family. In the meantime, Alexander has already been named “One to Watch in 2014” by Country Weekly as well as “Best Local Music Celebrity (2012)” by the Nashville Scene, alongside Taylor Swift and Jack White. “Dean’s music will stand out of the crowd from a songwriting sense and his vocal delivery,” raves Scott Hendricks, SVP of A&R, Warner Music Nashville. “There is simply nothing like it in our format. I’m anxious for the world to hear what we’ve been excited about since we met.”
