Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Play The Paramount
DAVE MATTHEWS AND TIM REYNOLDS ANNOUNCE JANUARY 16 AND 17, 2015 SHOWS AT THE PARAMOUNT THEATRE IN OAKLAND, CA, PRESENTED BY THE DREAMING TREE WINES
Fresh off an extensive summer tour with Dave Matthews Band and a performance as a duo at Farm Aid 2014, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds announce plans to begin 2015 with an intimate engagement at the Paramount Theatre in Oakland, CA. Tickets for the January 16 and 17 concerts – the pair’s first-ever shows at the historic venue – will go on sale this Friday, October 3, at 10:00 AM PT at http://davematthewsband.com.
The two musicians met more than 20 years ago in Charlottesville, VA – before Dave Matthews Band was founded – and have been collaborating ever since. Their rare performances as an acoustic duo allow fans to experience their special chemistry up-close, as they strip down each song to its essence and tell stories – often in a spectacular setting.
The Paramount Theatre opened in 1931 as an opulent movie palace. It is one of the finest remaining examples of Art Deco design in the United States and, after a painstaking restoration, was declared a National Historic Landmark. Equal attention has been paid to technical details, rendering it one of the premiere performing arts facilities in the San Francisco Bay area.
“An Evening with Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds” is being presented by The Dreaming Tree wines, a collaboration between Dave Matthews and seasoned Sonoma County winemaker Sean McKenzie.
Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds have released three live double-CDs together: 1999’s multi-Platinum Live At Luther College, Live At Radio City (2007) and Live In Las Vegas, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts in 2010. Matthews is best known as the vocalist/guitarist for Dave Matthews Band, which has sold a collective 37 million units (CD and DVD combined) since the 1994 release of its major label debut, Under the Table and Dreaming. In 2003, he released his solo debut, Some Devil, which Reynolds played on. Multi-instrumentalist and sonic innovator Reynolds has been hailed as an “underrated master” by allmusic.com. He founded the breakthrough electric power trio TR3 (Tim Reynolds Trio), which will release a new studio album, Like Some Kind of Alien Invasion, via ATO Records on October 7, 2014. Tim has also released a series of solo albums. Through the years, Reynolds has often joined Dave Matthews Band on tour and in the studio and is now an official band member.
