Three-time GRAMMY®-winning blues virtuoso Keb’ Mo’ – who will release his new album, Bluesamericana, on April 22 – and 2013 Sirius XM Watercolors “Breakthrough Artist” Vincent Ingala – who is climbing the charts with “If I Could Fly,” the latest single from his sophomore album, Can’t Stop Now – are the latest musical guests to join the lineup for the Dave Koz and Friends at Sea 2014 cruise to Alaska.
The line-up also includes special guest Chris Botti plus Oleta Adams, Jonathan Butler, Bobby Caldwell, Earl Klugh and many more yet-to-be-announced artists. TheSummer Horns – an all-star saxophone section featuring Mindi Abair, Gerald Albright, Richard Elliot and Dave Koz – will be playing hits from their chart-topping, GRAMMY-nominated album Dave Koz and Friends Summer Horns (Concord Records), which spent five weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Current Contemporary Jazz Albums. The album pays tribute to the great horn sections that fueled hits by such artists as James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Chicago, Tower Of Power and Blood, Sweat & Tears. Lead single “Got To Get You Into My Life” spent seven weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Smooth Jazz chart and “I Got You (I Feel Good)” topped the Mediabase Smooth A/C chart for seven weeks. Concord Records is taking their smoking version of Sly and the Family Stone’s “Hot Fun in the Summertime” to radio now as the quartet prepares for its North American summer tour.
Beginning with a sail away cocktail party with all the performers, travelers will continually find themselves mingling with the artists while on board, both informally and at scheduled autograph sessions. The entertainment will range from sophisticated productions in the Aurora Theatre that are glitzy enough to rival those on Broadway and in Las Vegas to surprise unplugged performances and late night comedy. Koz is keeping busy in the months leading up to the Alaska cruise.
