Claire Presents The Great Escape Today
Driven by laser tight production and carried by the undeniable voice of front-woman Josie Claire Bürkle, the Munich-based five-piece deliver a technicolor hybrid of wistful and electronic synthpop on its debut album “The Great Escape”, out today on Astralwerks.
The U.S. version of The Great Escape features two new and exclusive tracks; the shimmering third single “My Audacity” (“The track is a mishmash of everything that Claire does best: glitchy futuristic beats, magic pop sensibility, and a glimmering chorus that glides right into your brain and stays there.” – says Nylon) and “You Walk In Beauty” a stunning album track that showcases the band’s production prowess and Josie’s sultry voice at its finest. (You can see a stripped-down performance of “You Walk In Beauty” over at Filter Magazine).
Additional album highlights two singles from Claire’s debut EP Broken Promise Land (released September 2013); ‘Games’, a buoyant anthem to love’s labors which went on to be remixed by Passion Pit and the title track ‘Broken Promise Land’ which was featured in a BMW campaign and was remixed by none other than the godfather of synth, Giorgio Moroder.
The band recently premiered its video for Giorgio Moroder’s remix of ‘Broken Promise Land’ via Red Bull Music Academy and revealed its official ‘My Audacity’ video.
Shot during the band’s 2013 German headline tour, the clip gives a glimpse inside life on the road with the indie electronic band – already an international touring force to be reckoned with – capturing touring at its most glorious and most mundane:
A Nylon Magazine 2014 “artist to watch” and top-10 HypeMachine charting act, Claire has toured internationally with Chvrches, Bastille, and Capital Cities, and wowed U.S. audiences with high profile performances at CMJ in New York City in October 2013, and at this year’s SXSW in Austin, TX. Additional U.S. tour dates are on the horizon for later this year.
