France’s Christine And The Queens will make her American live debut at SXSW to showcase her highly anticipated debut US EP, Saint Claudefeaturing runaway French hits “Saint Claude” and “Christine,” the latter reimagined in English on brand new cut “Tilted.”

The EP will be released on April 14th through Because Music in partnership with Neon Gold Records, the same label that first brought international sensations Ellie Goulding, Marina & The Diamonds and – more recently – Charli XCX and Tove Lo, to US shores. Christine’s chart-topping debut album Chaleur Humaine – a collection of songs in French and English – is certified triple platinum in France with over 300,000 albums sold since its release last summer. The English version of Chaleur Humaine will follow later this year on Neon Gold / Because / Atlantic.

This news comes hot on the heels of Christine’s wins at the French Grammy-equivalent Victoires de La Musique awards for Best Female Artist and Video of the Year last month in Paris. She was also recently selected to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of France’s legendary Canal+ network, collaborating with Nile Rodgers in a televised performance of “We Are Family”.

Noisey premieres her debut US single, “Tilted” from the Saint Claude EP HERE and on soundcloud HERE, calling it “a lithe, perfectly parsed pop track. It’s breathy without being cutesy with just a shade of Haim” .

— RECENT PRAISE —

“I think her voice is amazing. I can see why she’s killing it. It’s exactly the sort of voice I like, it’s gravelly and has texture. The video is amazing too. That’s something you guys, The French, do really well, visuals and aesthetics. I was thinking, ‘Fuck, i’d like to steal that idea. I hope it doesn’t become a hit in England.’ Haha.” – Mark Ronson

“The song that I really like right now… It’s by Christine And The Queens and it’s called ‘Saint Claude’. It’s got this beautiful music video, it’s really simple, the melodies are transcendent. I love it.” – Lorde

“I love her music, she’s cool. I like how she doesn’t seem to care, I love her style. She’s an incredible dancer.” – Madonna

“A young female singer who found inspiration in the performances of London’s drag artists has become the summer sensation of the French music scene.” – The Guardian

Héloïse Letissier is the performer known as Christine And The Queens, and her critically acclaimed debut album Chaleur Humainereleased to rapturous critical acclaim in France via Because Music last year, was produced by Ash Workman (Metronomy) with multi-instrumentalist brothers Michael Lovett and Gabriel Stebbing.

The Guardian writes: “Although she performs alone, as her alter ego of Christine, she sees herself as representing a force ranged against the cliche of the pretty pop stars. Letissier’s creative holy grail, she told Libération last week, would be to be perceived by the public as “a silhouette, a presence”, more than a singer.“

Pushing boundaries in both genre and gender, the unique sound of Christine And The Queens pairs flamboyant pop with powerful minimalism. Beyond her incredible success in her native France, she has caught the ear of another cultural sensation in Lorde, who has recently been singing Christine’s praises in interviews and on social mediaMadonna and Mark Ronson, have recently joined the chorus as well, professing their love for Christine.
