Chelsea Grin Smiles With Ashes To Ashes Chart Numbers
CHELSEA GRIN’S NEW STUDIO ALBUM ASHES TO ASHES DEBUTS AT #27 ON THE BILLBOARD TOP 200 ALBUM CHART
Marks The Band’s Best First Week Sales To Date
Chelsea Grin’s new studio album Ashes To Ashes (released via Artery Recordings/Razor & Tie) charges onto the charts this week debuting at #27 on the Billboard Top 200 with over 10,100 units sold in its first week of release. This marks Chelsea Grin’s highest career charting debut and also their biggest U.S. sales week. The album also enters on a number of other Billboard charts including #4 at Hard Music, #8 at Rock and #16 at Digital.
Chelsea Grin’s 2012 EP Evolve and 2011 full length album My Damnation debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart at #63 selling 7,500 and #64 selling 6,700 respectively.
Another top Razor & Tie debut this week is from the band Starset, whose album Transmissions debuts at #49 on the Billboard Top 200 chart selling over 5,300. Starset’s hit single “My Demons” is in the Top 10 at Rock Radio and has been on the chart for 32 weeks, the longest chart run of the year at the format.
Chelsea Grin’s Ashes To Ashes was produced by Chelsea Grin and Diego Farias (Animals As Leaders, Volumes, Stray From The Path). The Salt Lake City, UT based metal band have transformed into a veritable phenomenon. Ashes to Ashes uncages a torrent of technically tight and taut metallic fury fortified by glimpses of melody and an intoxicating groove. That vision is something that Alex Koehler [vocals], Jason Richardson [lead guitar, programming], Jake Harmond [rhythm guitar], Dan Jones [rhythm guitar], David Flinn [bass], and Pablo Viveros [drums] discovered through tireless dedication to evolution since the band’s formation in 2007.
The band is currently on the road for the full Van’s Warped Tour (tour dates below).
