Last night, Athens, GA-based multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Kishi Bashi made his network television debut on The Late Show With David Letterman. Appearing with his band, Kishi Bashi performed his soaring, whimsical single “Philosophize In It! Chemicalize With It!,” a track off his critically acclaimed sophomore album, Lighght.
Continue readingSydney’s Au.Ra, a duo composed of Tim Jenkins and Tom Crandles, are set to release their debut full length on Los Angeles label, felte. Jane’s Lament, a work which carefully envelops the listener in dreamy hues of sound, will be available on March 3. Self-Titled premiered a stream of “You’re On My Mind” from Jane’s Lament and described the track as, “a deeply meditative listen driven by bold drum beats, fog-infused melodies, and guitars that glide and glaze over everything like a muffled shoegaze record.” Additionally the band revealed a new video for “Morning” which premiered on Alt Citizen. The site raved, “Au.Ra craft songs that flirt with psychedelic ambiance as well as the charm of pop melodies. Repetition is an integral part of their process, but their keen atmospheric layering makes sure their sound is intriguing, enveloping, and warm.”

The month-long U.S. trek encompassing headlining shows and festival appearances is the first solo tour supporting the group’s acclaimed studio album WORLD ON FIRE which is SLASH’s third straight solo album to debut in the Top Ten in the U.S and the second album with his official band The Conspirators which features MYLES KENNEDY (vocals), BRENT FITZ (drums), TODD KERNS (bass) and FRANK SIDORIS (touring guitarist).
