Heartless Bastards Bring Gates Of Dawn To NPR

NPR has premiered “Gates of Dawn,” the first track from the new highly anticipated Heartless Bastards record, due out June 16 on Partisan. Titled Restless Ones, the album is the band’s fifth and was produced by GRAMMY® Award-winning producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Angel Olsen, Swans). Restless Ones was tracked in August 2014 during a 10-day session at El Paso, TX’s renowned Sonic Ranch. Located on 2,300 acres of pecan orchards bordering the Rio Grande and Mexico, the studio – the largest residential recording complex in the world – provided the perfect setting, miles away from all real world responsibilities and thus able to fully invest themselves in the act of creation.

Banks Hits Letterman

BANKS continues on the late night television circuit with her first ever appearance on Late Show With David Letterman this Friday, April 3rd. Be sure to tune in to watch the LA-based musician perform her single “Beggin For Thread” from her critically lauded, debut album GODDESS (out now on Harvest Records). BANKS will tour this Spring and Summer at various North American music festivals, including making her debut at Lollapalooza 2015. BANKS also just released the GODDESS (Remixes) LP, which features reworks of her fan-favorite tracks by The Chainsmokers, David Glass Animals, and Bag Raiders.

SKEE TV Bows On Fuse

Award-winning DJ, producer, digital media pioneer and entrepreneur Scott Keeney aka “DJ SKEE” will launch his new, hour-long television series, SKEE TV, on Fuse beginning Thursday, April 9th at 10:30pm (ET/PT). The premiere episode of SKEE TV will feature a live performance from rapper Machine Gun Kelly and an interview in the hot seat with DJ SKEE as well as original segments featuring indie artist Marina and The Diamonds, rapper Fashawn and DJ Alesso. All new line-ups will be featured each week. Hip hop artist Common, electronic music group Phantogram, rapper Action Bronson and R&B/country artist Sam Hunt have also been confirmed to appear on the first season of SKEE TV.

The Kentucky Headhunters’ Meet Me In Bluesland Coming

Alligator Records has set a June 2 street date for Meet Me In Bluesland, a previously unreleased album by Grammy-winning Southern blues-rockers The Kentucky Headhunters with pianist Johnnie Johnson, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. The performances found Johnson — the man Rolling Stone called “the greatest sideman in rock and roll” for his groundbreaking piano work with Chuck Berry — playing some of the deepest and most rocking blues piano of his legendary career. With The Kentucky Headhunters at their down-home best, the record is a country-fried, blues-infused party from start to finish.
