Neil Young Headlines WayHome Music And Arts

Republic Live and AC Entertainment announced earlier today that legendary rock icon Neil Young and his band Promise of the Real will be headlining the inaugural WayHome Music and Arts festival taking place July 24th – 26th at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds. An additional 24 artists will also be joining WayHome’s already remarkable first year line up, including Brandon Flowers, Theophilus London, Manchester Orchestra, The Lone Bellow, Django Django, The Growlers, Rhiannon Giddens, Dwyane Gretzky, Tobias Jesso Jr, Chad VanGaalen, Broncho, Slow Magic, Highs, Brave Shores, Kevin Garrett, Weaves, Ascot Royals, The Beaches, Tomi Swick, Zorch, Amos the Transparent, Teen Violence, The Huaraches and Cross Dog.

Slayer Finishing Up New Album

Slayer – bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, guitarist Kerry King, and returning drummer Paul Bostaph, along with touring guitarist Gary Holt and producer Terry Date – has completed recording what is one of the most highly-anticipated albums of 2015, Slayer’s 11th studio album and the band’s first new effort since 2011’s Grammy-nominated World Painted Blood. The currently untitled album is expected out later this year, and will be released on Slayer’s own as yet unnamed label (through Nuclear Blast).

Miel De Botton, Yale And The YMCA Jerusalem Youth Chorus

The YMCA Jerusalem Youth Chorus is bringing their message of peace to the US, performing in six US cities in June. The choir, an ensemble of high school students from East and West Jerusalem, includes both Palestinian and Israeli singers, who through music and dialogue, are able to see beyond their differences and conflicts and work together for peace in their community and beyond.

Asbury Park Celebrates Music In Film

The first annual Asbury Park Music in Film Festival took place over the weekend along the Southern New Jersey coast, showcasing some of music’s most critically acclaimed documentaries and films. Asbury Park has been a long-time haven for musicians and the setting of some of the greatest moments in music history. Thousands of attendees including notable directors, producers, and musicians enjoyed a jam-packed weekend full of screenings and live performances.
