Carsie Blanton’s Tours Adult Stores

Carsie Blanton Announces First-Ever

In-Store Tour of Sex Positive Adult Stores

The sassy, sophisticated New Orleans-based singer-songwriter Carsie Blanton is currently on the road in support of her new album Not Old, Not New that’s due out on June 24th. During her tour, she will make pit stops in San Francisco, Baltimore, and New York City for a first-of-its-kind in-store tour of sex-positive adult stores.

In addition to her career as a musician, Carsie Blanton is a blogger who prolifically writes about sex, music, and love on her website. Her posts on “Casual Love” and “Women Who Like Sex” have received hundreds of thousands of views and have sparked twitter conversations with Belle Knox and have even turned Dan Savage into a fan.

“A lot of my work is about sex, and some of it is also about love. I find the erotic spark – the thing that happens when people are attracted to each other—very inspiring. For me, that spark is not just about sex, but also music. The two go hand in hand, so it feels natural to write about both on my blog.”

Fans attending the in-store events can expect performances from Carsie’s new album and back catalog paired with stories and conversation about love, sex and music.

“Music and sex seem so tangled together – so inexorably linked – that it’s impossible to imagine one without the other,” says Blanton. “Music and sex are two expressions of the same longing. They are driven by the same deeply sensual, celebratory, creative urge.”

Blanton’s new critically acclaimed album is currently streaming one week in advance of release at American Songwriter. In a recent feature, Classicalite called Blanton a

“young lioness… that channels some of the greatest female singers, be they elder stateswomen such as Billie Holiday and Nina Simone or contemporaries like Norah Jones.”

“Most of my songs are about love and lust. The songs on this record [Not Old, Not New], some of them 80 years old, are about the same topics; but approached with a kind of subtlety and restraint that you don’t find much of these days. I also wanted to create a mood that fits the songs – sultry but also subtle – so this is a record you can make love to,” says Blanton.
