They Die By Dawn & Other Short Stories

“Jeymes Samuel is cool. In fact, I will go as far as saying that he is cool personified – living, breathing, walking, speaking, cool. It’s the triple threat of his rock star magnetism, playful spirit and sky-high confidence, which he struts so effortlessly, that literally makes men want to be him and women want to be with him.” – thenewnext.com
Unquestionably one of the most creative minds in today’s entertainment industry, Singer, songwriter, producer, director are just a few things describing Jeymes Samuel, aka The Bullitts. “Being just Jeymes”, as he says it, is still aiming for the stars after a dynamite year in 2013: Screening his film at the hottest festivals, releasing The Bullitts debut album and partnering up with Jay-Z to oversee the music for Baz Luhrmann’s blockbuster film The Great Gatsby.
Last summer, The Bullitts released his remarkable debut studio album, They Die By Dawn & Other Short Stories (TDBD & OSS), narrated by Lucy Liu, featuring collaborations with Tori Amos, Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def), Rosario Dawson, and Jay Electronica. The album boasts a series of short films including the classic music video for the song Supercool (starring Rosario Dawson) and the epic They Die By Dawn, a gun-slinging black western film that Samuel wrote, produced and directed. With an impressive, star-studded cast including Erykah Badu, Michael K. Williams, Isaiah Washington, Giancarlo Esposito, and Rosario Dawson, the film premiered at last year’s SXSW festival to rave reviews.
They Die by Dawn the movie hits screens worldwide on June 30, 2014.
As Samuel is gearing up for the global release of his film, he is also releasing a deluxe version of The Bullitts’ TDBD & OSS. Set to hit stores the week of June 23, this deluxe special will please fans with new tracks and videos. Use the link and watch a teaser Here.
“They Die By Dawn is the definitive sound of the Bullitts,” Samuel told Rolling Stone. “It’s the epitome of what I call ‘creating from the hip.’” Rolling Stone exclusively premiered the album’s title track. Rolling Stone said, “The track is a mix of hip-hop and distinctly western-style guitar, with a beat that feels like a galloping horse.”
If that’s not enough, next month The Bullitts will release a new video for “Stay, Runaway,” while also putting the finishing touches on his highly anticipated sophomore EP, set to be released this fall.
A true renaissance man, Jeymes has been gaining speed for some time now. In 2011, he headlined The Big Chill festival alongside The Chemical Brothers and Kanye West, while BBC Radio declared his first four singles, “the hottest records in the world.”
