The Breeders to Headline C2SV Music Festival as Tech Disruptors
and Music Lovers Converge on SoFA Arts District in Downtown San Jose

Breakthrough Event Showcases Emerging Acts, Advanced Ideas and Disruptive Innovation in a Festive Urban Environment

This year’s festival also celebrates return of the SoFA Street Fair

Silicon Valley innovators, disruptors and creative professionals will again converge on their home turf with some equally disruptive and creative artists in popular music when THE C2SV TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE + MUSIC FESTIVAL, headlined by The Breeders, takes over the SoFA District in Downtown San Jose to celebrate the digital culture explosion Wednesday, Sept. 10 through Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014.

C2SV will launch with a kickoff party Sept. 10 and culminate with the return of the SoFA Street Fair Sept. 14.The SoFA Street Fair, which will be produced by founding promoter Filco Events, ended its celebrated 10-year run in 2001 and is now part of the four-day C2SV celebration.

Early-bird tickets for the C2SV (Creative Convergence Silicon Valley) Saturday show including The Breeders, as well as three-day VIP music passes and technology conference badges, are on sale NOW at www.c2sv.com. Early bird prices range from $25 to $199.

The festival expands on the success of last year’s conference and festival, with leading names in technology and emerging and established musical artists.

One of the most widely acclaimed bands in alternative rock, The Breeders recently reunited with their original lineup, featuring Kim Deal of the Pixies and Tanya Donnelly of Throwing Muses. The band is are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album LSXX, recorded in San Francisco, and anticipating the release of their first new material in five years. Also on the bill are LA all-girl surf band The Neptunas, Bay Area lo-fi retro-pop artist Kelley Stoltz and LA’s “Art After Death” band Gateway Drugs. An electronic music/DJ stage and club performances will round out the mix.

C2SV provides an exciting new platform for sharing ideas, discovering new music and, of course, having a lot of fun in the heart of Silicon Valley, the epicenter of the global digital revolution. Technology and music events across the country have become a place to network, collaborate, launch companies and promote bands. C2SV invites the world to experience live music with Silicon Valley technology on its home turf.

A wide range of technology visionaries, entrepreneurs, investors and thought leaders are scheduled to speak at the San Jose Stage and the Zero1 Garage. Last year, Steve Wozniak and John McAfee were among the luminaries who participated. This year’s festival will emphasize the growing role of women in technology.

More musical acts and technology visonaries are being added daily.

“The true genius of Silicon Valley is in its authenticity and lack of pretension, along with accessibility and inclusion that facilitates the propagation of ideas,” says Dan Pulcrano, Silicon Valley publisher and creator of C2SV. “We’re keeping the agenda diverse and the prices low because we believe the future belongs to everyone. This is a grassroots, homegrown event celebrating our musical and technological creativity.We’re staying close to the community and emphasizing ideas and substance.”

Last year, C2SV contributed $22,000 to 28 locally based not-for-profit community organizations.

C2SV also allows the Valley’s hard working technical workforce to experience a festival of music and advanced ideas without having to sleep on someone’s couch in another city. The conference and accompanying expo will take place in the SoFA Arts District in downtown San Jose.
