BILLY IDOL TO EMBARK ON A TOUR OF THE U.S. AND CANADA IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY OF 2015
IDOL’S SELF-WRITTEN AUTOBIOGRAPHY DANCING WITH MYSELF OUT TOMORROW, OCTOBER 7
NEW ALBUM KINGS & QUEENS OF THE UNDERGROUND WILL BE RELEASED OCTOBER 21
Rock icon BILLY IDOL will embark on a theatre tour of the U.S. and Canada in January and February of 2015. The North American tour, which begins January 21 in New Orleans, is the latest leg of IDOL’s “Kings & Queens Of The Underground Live” world tour that includes previously announced shows in Europe in November 2014.
Tickets for most of the North American shows (see full itinerary below) go on sale this Friday October 10. Concerts in additional cities will be announced soon.
Oklahoma’s BRONCHO, who recently released their critically acclaimed new album Just Enough Hip To Be Woman, will appear as special guest on all shows.
Today’s announcement of BILLY IDOL’s North American tour comes one day before IDOL will release his highly anticipated self-written autobiography Dancing With Myself, which will be released tomorrow (October 7) by Touchstone, an imprint of Simon and Schuster. Idol was featured on yesterday’s CBS Sunday Morning and will appear tomorrow on NBC-TV’s Today Show and the Howard Stern Show on Wednesday, October 8. The following day, Thursday, October 9, BILLY IDOL will be interviewed live on stage as the keynote event of the 2014 CBGB Music and Film Festival in New York City.
Two weeks following the arrival of the autobiography Dancing With Myself, IDOL will release his first studio album in almost a decade, Kings & Queens Of The Underground, on BFI Records via Kobalt Label Services. Kings & Queens Of The Underground was primarily produced by Trevor Horn, with Greg Kurstin also contributing as producer to two songs, including the anthemic lead single, “Can’t Break Me Down.” USA Today recently named “Can’t Break Me Down” their song of the week, declaring “with its punkish drive, sneering vocals and roaring Steve Stevens guitar, Can’t Break Me Down could have made a great follow-up to latter-day Idol hits.”
