Keith Wortman is the creator and executive producer of DEAR JERRY: CELEBRATING THE MUSIC OF JERRY GARCIA.  Grammy Award-winner Don Was serves as music director, and will lead an all-star band backing the performers at this incomparable concert event taping. Was and Wortman recently teamed to produce large-scale concert events, music releases, and broadcast specials honoring music icons such as Johnny Cash, Levon Helm, Dr. John, Gregg Allman, Mavis Staples and Emmylou Harris amongst others. DEAR JERRY: CELEBRATING THE MUSIC OF JERRY GARCIA will be filmed and recorded for multi-platform distribution throughout traditional and digital media. The event will be co-produced by the Jerry Garcia family.

Kreutzmann also recently announced a book tour in support of his soon-to-be-released memoir, Deal: My Three Decades of Drumming, Dreams and Drugs with The Grateful Dead (St. Martin’s Press; on-sale May 5, 2015; $27.99). The dates begin in Denver, CO, at the Cannabis Cup and end May 31 in San Francisco, CA, at The Chapel. Some of the signing events will include an exclusive “Bill Kreutzmann in Conversation with Benjy Eisen,” event followed by a Q&A and signing, while others will be signings only. “Bill Kreutzmann in Conversation with Benjy Eisen” events will be held at the same store in which the signings are taking place.

On April 20, for one night only, Billy & The Kids featuring Dominic Lalli from Big Gigantic and the String Cheese Incident’s Jason Hann, will perform at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO, performing a “Spring ’90 Revisited Show.” At this exclusive event, Kreutzmann and his band will revisit the catalog from the Grateful Dead’s famed Spring ’90 tour.

Immediately after the book tour is over, Kreutzmann will begin preparations for the biggest concert events of the decade with the reunited Grateful Dead for three nights at Chicago’s Soldier Field – joined by Trey Anastasio, Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti – performing their final shows ever. The Dear Jerry pre-party at the 9:30 Club which will benefit the Rex Foundation will be Billy & The Kids’ last appearance before the Soldier Field dates.
