Benzel’s Men Out Via Friends Keep Secrets
BENZEL REVEALS DEBUT EP MEN OUT EARLY FALL ON PMR RECORDS/FRIENDS KEEP SECRETS
NEW TRACK “WASTED LOVE” PREMIERES ON BBC
RADIO 1’S “ZANE LOWE” SHOW
Following a year of speculation about their identity, BenZel have formally introduced themselves as the production duo of Benny Blanco and Ben Ash (Two Inch Punch). Over the last twelve months, the pair has posted a series of highly celebrated and much talked-about tracks online, including collaborations with Jessie Ware and Cass Lowe & Chance The Rapper. The duo are now set to release their debut EP MEN in early fall via PMR Records/Friends Keep Secrets.
“Wasted Love,” the first track off the EP, premiered on BBC Radio 1’s “Zane Lowe” show last night, listen here. The new song is a collaboration with London singer Stevie Neale.
In addition to the MEN EP, BenZel has executive produced Jessie Ware’s forthcoming album, Tough Love. Listen to Tough Love’s title track, produced by the duo here.
Some of BenZel’s creative inspiration comes from fictional Japanese characters Umi Takahashi and Yoko Watanabe, whose affinity for cats, 90’s R&B, J. Dilla and hypoallergenic ankle socks reflects the persuasions of their real life creators, Ash and Blanco.
