Mike Ragogna: Do you have any advice for new artists that are starting out?
Bebel Gilberto: Well, I guess that the most interesting thing– maybe most people don’t think about unless you are raised by artists as I was–is to combine discipline and artistic methods which, for me, was always difficult. It is good that you study a little bit and practice and take it a little bit serious as a job, than just, “Okay, I am an artist, I can do whatever.” Most of the time, I felt like, “Oh, I don’t need to think about it,” or was just waiting for the feeling to come in or just waiting for the projects. It’s always good to have some discipline and to prepare yourself in that way.
