Avan Lava Shares Mixtape With Dancing Astronaut

New York’s dance pop band AVAN LAVA shared a Make It Real Mixtape via Dancing Astronaut HERE, which called it “15-track mix of top shelf deep house cuts”. Last week FADER Magzine premiered AVAN LAVA’s “a hot, beep-house cut” “Leave It All Behind” HERE. The band told FADER Magazine: “Sometimes you’ve got your nose pressed so hard to the grindstone that you fail to look up. When you finally take a minute to gain perspective, you’re not where you set out to be. ‘Leave It All Behind’ is about having the courage to start over, even if that means losing everything. It’s about making the space for freedom in your life.”

AVAN LAVA is an American, New York based, dance pop band consisting of producer/drummer Ian Pai, producer/keyboard/guitar Le Chev, and lead singer TC Milan. Today, they’re proud to announce their upcoming Make It Real EP which will be released on March 31st via Atlas Chair. The label is co-founded by JD Samson (MEN, Le Tigre) and home to Baby Alpaca, The Aikiu and bottoms. The last track they revealed, “Last Night” HERE, was championed by BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac, Interview Magazine, Paper Magazine and Perez Hilton for instance. The trio has built up a cult-following for their over-the-top, one of kind live experiences, which include extra live members, dancers and production worthy of awards shows. At the end of February, they’ll go on a North American tour, which will include a stop at Austin’s SXSW. 

Last year they toured Brazil, played at Lancôme’s Paris Fashion Week event at Palais Brongniart and packed David Lynch’s Club Silencio in Paris as well as a thrilling show at Club Koko for NME in London.

AVAN LAVA frontman TC Milan told Paper Magazine: “We know our fans come to dance and lose themselves for a night, so we do everything we can to get them to that point. We’ve built a custom light show, choreographed big dance breaks, wear matching outfits that always change show-to-show. Even when we were playing 100 cap rooms, we were hiring dancers and shooting confetti canons into the crowd — we want every show to be the best night of your life.”

In 2012 Flex Fantasy EP prompted sold out shows in New York City and a US tour with band Little Boots. Noisey raved, “You need these guys in your life!” The Flex Fantasy excitement saw the release of 3 videos and a colaboration with world-renowned photographers Inez & Vinoodh to compose music for several of the duo’s fashion campaign films. Other notable ad campaigns for Dior, Mango (w Kate Moss), Viktor & Rolf, Juicy Couture, Calvin Klein and Miu Miu (with Blue Is The Warmest Colour actresses Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopo) etc all have featured AVAN LAVA’s thrilling sounds.
