The Clearwater Festival Shapes Roster

Today, Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival, also referred to as The Clearwater Festival and founded by Pete Seeger, announces its initial lineup of artists set to perform on the banks of the Hudson River at beautiful Croton Point Park, Croton-On-Hudson, New York on June 20-21, 2015. The Clearwater Festival is the country’s oldest and largest music and environmental festival, bringing together major musical acts and Clearwater’s own brand of green activism for a unique weekend every June. Seeger started the festival over 40 years ago as an annual fundraiser for Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, an environmental organization he founded.

Best Coast’s California Nights Coming

Best Coast – singer/songwriter/guitarist Bethany Cosentino and guitarist Bobb Bruno – will release their third full-length album, entitled California Nights, on Harvest Records on May 5th. The band recently unveiled a trailer for the album’s title track; directed by Adam Harding you can now watch the video in full via Vevo. To celebrate the release of California Nights, Best Coast has also announced a North American spring tour with more dates to be announced soon.

MC Roosh Goes Unorthodox

Today, standout Houston MC Roosh Williams releases his highly anticipated album, Unorthodox. The 11-track album includes guest artists Scarface, Emilio Rojas, and GT Garza along with Texas based producers Trakksounds, Lacemode and DaStunnaBeatz. Unorthodox is Roosh Williams’ follow-up to the acclaimed deja Roo: Times Have Changed which Complex Magazine hailed as “one of the top ten Houston Rap Projects of 2013.”

Jack Ladder To Bring Playmates

Today, Jack Ladder is releasing their new album Playmates, out now via Fat Possum Records. Its release ushers in a run of tour dates, bringing the Australia-based Ladder and his band The Dreamlanders, featuring Kirin J. Callinan (whose own album Embracism was released last year on Terrible / XL) Laurence Pike (of PVT) and Donny Benet, to the US. Their American dates currently include stops at SXSW, Brooklyn and Los Angeles, and more dates will be announced soon.

In the 17 years since the release of From There To Here, Kyle Eastwood’s first album as a leader, the multi-talented double bassist, composer and producer has forged a dynamic musical path. His artistry is eclectic, yet refined and transcends the boundaries of jazz by exploring an ever-widening range of musical influences. While continuing to develop his parallel career as a composer and arranger on his legendary father Clint’s Oscar nominated films “Mystic River,” “Million Dollar Baby” and “Letters from Iwo Jima,” Eastwood has reaffirmed traditions while creating truly contemporary, lyrical and melodic jazz. He has flirted with electro-jazz cool on Paris Blue (2004); delved into 70s-tinged “smooth jazz” accents and grooves on Now (2006); and gone “arty” urban chic on the subtly mixed Metropolitan (2009).

Ryan Culwell To Bring Flatlands

On March 3rd, the Nashville-via-West Texas troubadour Ryan Culwell will release Flatlands, his first album in more than 8 years, on Lightning Rod Records (Jason Isbell, Billy Joe Shaver, Amanda Shires). Today, Rolling Stone Country is debuting the album in its entirety one week in advance of release.
