EELS’ Royal Albert Hall Album/Film Coming

EELS have had one of the most consistently acclaimed careers in music. The ever-changing project of principal singer/songwriter Mark Oliver Everett, aka E, EELS have released 10 studio albums since their 1996 debut, Beautiful Freak. Mojo Magazine calls Everett “a member of rock’s very own League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,” while legendary troubadour Tom Waits says he “eagerly awaits each new release.” In 2008 Everett published his highly-acclaimed book Things the Grandchildren Should Know and starred in the award-winning Parallel Worlds, Parallel Lives documentary about the search to understand his quantum physicist father, Hugh Everett III. In 2009 EELS began the release of an album trilogy: Hombre Lobo, End Times and Tomorrow Morning, followed three years later by 2013’s Wonderful, Glorious and the critically-acclaimed The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett in 2014.

Fall Out Boy With Wiz Khalifa For Boys Of Zummer Tour

Multi-platinum selling artists Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa announced today their 40+ city Boys of Zummer co-headlining tour in support of their respective hit albums American Beauty/American Psycho and Blacc Hollywood. The summer tour will kick off on Wednesday, June 10 at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ, and continue through cities including Chicago, Toronto, Nashville, St. Louis, Atlanta, Dallas and Las Vegas before concluding at Los Angeles’ famed Hollywood Bowl on Monday, Aug. 10. American rapper, singer and hip hop artist Hoodie Allen will serve as special guest on the tour.

The Wombats Share “Greek Tragedy”

The Wombats have released their newest single “Greek Tragedy” from their forthcoming LP Glitterbug (out April 7th via Bright Antenna Records). Premiering first as the “Hottest Record” on Zane Lowe/Radio 1, the band exclusively unveiled the track’s music video to their fan mailing list yesterday. Directed by Finn Keenan (The Kooks, The Strypes), the video stars one very loyal fan.

G.R.L.’s “Lighthouse” Shines

Rising girl group G.R.L. releases a brand new video today for their new single “Lighthouse” written by Lukasz Gottwald, Theron Thomas, Timothy Thomas and Henry Walter and produced by Dr. Luke and Cirkut. The video is a touching tribute to G.R.L.’s Simone Battle who passed away tragically a few months ago. Directed by Daniel Carberry, the video premiered today on Vevo worldwide and “Lighthouse” is available now.

Dave King Presents Rational Funk

Dave King – composer and drummer with accomplished jazz and rock groups including The Bad Plus, Dave King Trucking Co. and Halloween, Alaska – has launched a new video series that challenges the conventions of music tutorials on YouTube. Created by King and Minneapolis-based videographer Joe Johnson, “RATIONAL FUNK” features King improvising a litany of performance tips and career advice. Just as The Bad Plus defies the template of traditionalist jazz trios, “RATIONAL FUNK” turns the YouTube tutorial genre on its ear with rich, spontaneous doses of humor and pop culture commentary. Six original episodes of “RATIONAL FUNK” are streaming now at YouTube’s official “RATIONAL FUNK WITH DAVE KING” channel.
