Charles Chemery Gets Program Chair At Hollywood’s CCM

Musicians Institute, the College of Contemporary Music in Hollywood, has named world renowned DJ and independent artist Charles Chemery as Program Chair of the school’s Independent Artist Program (IAP). As the Program Chair, Chemery will work alongside the school’s experienced instructors to guide students through the complete creative process—from songwriting, arranging, recording and production to marketing and promotion—over the course of two academic quarters. IAP students develop their skills as singers, DJs, producers, rappers or instrumentalists to produce original songs, develop a business plan to release their music, and build a fan base.

Corey Dargel’s “There’s Nothing There” Appears At Popatters

New Amsterdam Records is excited to share the video for “There’s Nothing There” from OK It’s Not OK, the fourth studio album from “baroquely unclassifiable” (The New Yorker) composer and “prince of postclassical song” (Time Out New York) Corey Dargel. OK It’s Not OK will be released on January 27, 2015. The video, for which Doug Fitch created the artwork, premiered via PopMatters, who noted that “The eclectic arrangements and quirky mood of “There’s Nothing There” reveals Dargel to be a composer with a lot going on in his head.”

The standup performance will take place on Friday, January 23 at 8:00 PM at The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater. VH1’s That Metal Show Back February 21st

VH1 Classic’s centerpiece in original programming “That Metal Show” returns for its 14th season this February. The acclaimed hard rock/heavy metal talk show, hosted by Eddie Trunk, Don Jamieson, and Jim Florentine, will kick-off the new season on Saturday, February 21st at a new broadcast time of 9:00PM ET/PT, repeating at 11:00PM ET/PT the same evening. The new season of “That Metal Show” will consist of 12 all-new episodes and will be shot at Metropolis Studios in New York City on Tuesday nights for broadcast that Saturday.
