John Statz To Bring Tulsa

John Statz recorded his new album with an all-star band in the middle of a Vermont ice storm. “We had to keep the stove burning the whole day, and then the electricity went out for ten minutes,” concedes Statz. “Luckily, we were just rehearsing.” John Statz will release Tulsa on March 10, 2015.

Today, Grammy Award-winning artist Lupe Fiasco releases his highly anticipated fifth full-length studio album Tetsuo & Youth via 1st & 15th / Atlantic Records. Jose Gonzalez’ Vestiges & Claws Coming

Jose Gonzalez has released his striking new single, “Leaf Off/The Cave,” from his soon-to-be-released album Vestiges & Claws, due out on Mute on February 17. The song is available now at Amazon and iTunes. This past weekend, Gonzalez performed “Leaf Off/The Cave” with an eight-piece band a 27-person choir on Sweden’s popular award show, P3 Guld.

“Weird Al” Yankovic’s Mandatory World Tour

Fresh off the biggest year of his storied career, “Weird Al” Yankovic today announced his 2015 Mandatory World Tour. Slated to visit over 100 cities throughout North America, Europe, and Australia, the tour follows the release of Weird Al’s #1 album, Mandatory Fun (RCA Records). The album was released on July 15, 2014 and immediately shot to #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart. This is the first time in over 50 years that a comedy album has topped the charts, and the first time ever that a comedy album debuted in the top position. Mandatory Fun has also been nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Comedy Album.

Portland Announces Decemberists Day

The Decemberists have released their seventh studio album, What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World, today January 20, 2015 with the city of Portland, Oregon declaring the date “Decemberists Day.” Portland’s mayor Charlie Hales will present the band with the below proclamation at a City Hall ceremony at 2:00pm today. The free event features a performance by the band and the unveiling of a collaborative art piece inspired by the album that was created by 50 local Portland artists and small businesses.
