José James Celebrates Billie Holiday

Acclaimed vocalist José James has announced a March 31, 2015 release for his new album Yesterday I Had The Blues: The Music of Billie Holiday, a tribute to the legendary singer in honor of Holiday’s 100th birthday. James celebrates the woman he refers to as his “musical mother” with this stunning set of 9 songs written or popularized by Holiday. The album, which was produced by Blue Note president Don Was, features a stellar band including pianist Jason Moran, bassist John Patitucci, and drummer Eric Harland.

Jack White’s Garden Performance On Pandora

Pandora (NYSE: P), the leading internet radio service, has partnered with Jack White and Third Man Records to livestream White’s sold out Madison Square Garden show on Friday, January 30th at 9 PM EST. In anticipation of the livestream, Third Man Records has curated a digital mixtape for Pandora listeners which is available now via the special Jack White Live Pandora station: pandora.com/JackWhiteLive or by searching Jack White Live in the Pandora mobile/tablet app. White’s first solo show at Madison Square Garden also marks the first time Pandora has worked with a single artist to stream a live performance.

Paramore’s Writing The Future

Fueled By Ramen recording group Paramore has announced “PARAMORE: WRITING THE FUTURE” an intimate evening of music with Paramore and Their Friends Copeland, set to hit prestigious theatres like the Beacon Theatre in New York, Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, and the Dolby Theatre (formerly Kodak) in Los Angeles beginning in late April. “It feels right to bring the Self-Titled era to a close,” said Hayley Williams. “We’ve had a very personal and hugely triumphant journey with this one. What wouldn’t feel right is saying goodbye to this time in the band’s career and not celebrating it with our fans in some special way. So we’ve decided to do one last little run with it. Smaller shows, beautiful theaters… and we’re not calling it a tour, by the way. Each night will be a little event, or as we said just a few seconds ago, a celebration.”
