Dogheart formed in early 2014 when Oregon natives Matt Jenkins (guitar, vocals), Cameron Hering (drums), and Gray Hildreth (bass), began writing music together in a tight, crowded, and dark practice space where they spent many long hours honing in on their new sound and coming up with their new name for the band. The band decided on the name Dogheart, which Matt Jenkins thought of years back, the name suggesting that man can be a selfish creature, or a loving being. This name perhaps influenced by those that the group met along the way. All members originally hailed from different projects, and wanted to create something fun and exciting without any borders, or restrictions. The band all dabbled with other projects, as well as incomplete projects, in the past and were eager to create something that they were all proud of and move forward with it.

Continue readingUtah duo Mideau – Libbie Linton and Spencer J. Harrison – is set to release their self-titled debut full-length album on April 21, 2015. Recorded with the help of Grammy nominated songwriter and producer Nate Pyfer (Kaskade, The Moth & The Flame) and audio engineers Scott Wiley (Neon Trees) and Mike Roskelley (Kaskade, The Late Night Alumni), the album showcases the pair’s ability to write beautiful, complex, melodic and meaningful songs. In addition, Mideau will be making their second SXSW appearance this March in advance of the late spring album release.
Continue readingIndie band, Ewert and The Two Dragons have premiered the video for their new single “Pictures” via MTV Iggy. Filmed in their native Estonia, the video features the band performing in an abandoned warehouse, perched atop giant modular cube-like lighted sculptures, surrounded by more than 200 lamps – all timed to an intricate sequence. “Pictures” is the first single off of the band’s upcoming album ‘Circles,’ which will be release on February 24th (Sire/Warner Bros. Records). The album is available for pre-order now on iTunes and Amazon.

Continue readingDynamic musical collective The Dead Daisies head to Cuba this month as guests of the Cuban Ministry of Culture, Cuban Institute of Music and the Cuban Rock Agency. The rock band will be in Havana from February 20 to March 1 as part of a cultural exchange organized by the Cuban Ministry of Culture.
