Critically praised Icelandic musician Ásgeir has confirmed he’ll join acclaimed Irish singer/songwriter Hozier on the first leg of his North American tour in early 2015, with dates kicking off February 6 at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre and continuing through February 28 at Detroit’s Royal Oak Music Theatre. With a majority of the February dates already sold out, be sure to catch Ásgeir as he kicks off his first full North American headline tour this Friday, October 3 at Bowery Ballroom in New York City.

Tastemakers and critics have wholeheartedly embraced Ásgeir’s stunning and majestic sound. He’s drawn praise from NPR, TIME, Vogue, Brooklyn Vegan and more. His soaring single “King And Cross,” featured on his debut album In The Silence, has been championed at AAA radio, led by WXRT/Chicago, KINK/Portland, KEXP/Seattle, KCMP/Minneapolis, and WRLT/Nashville, where the song remained in Shazam’s Top 10 for more than 10 straight weeks (the song peaked at #2). NPR Music recently premiered the music video for “King And Cross, while Ásgeir has been featured on Philadelphia’s WXPN World Café and as Los Angeles’ KCRW “Today’s Top Tune.”

Ásgeir’s debut album In The Silence is out now. Recalling Bon Iver, Mew, Kings Of Convenience and James Blake, the hope-filled album bursts with warm acoustic guitars, jubilant horns and majestic piano. It took the #1 spot on Billboard’s Next Big Sound chart earlier this year and is the fastest-selling debut in his native country (1 in 10 people in Iceland own the album).
