Andrew Combs Drops All These Dreams
ANDREW COMBS’ NEW ALBUM ALL THESE DREAMS OUT TODAY RECENTLY PRAISED BY NPR MUSIC, ROLLING STONE, ROLLING STONE COUNTRY, THE BOSTON GLOBE, MOJO, ETC. ON TOUR NOW |
Andrew Combs’ new album, All These Dreams, is out today on Coin Records/Thirty Tigers (iTunes). Released to widespread acclaim, NPR Music’s Ann Powers praises, “The arrangements on All These Dreams have a retro quality, evoking 1970s Laurel Canyon and 1980s Austin as well as 1960s Music Row. With the singer’s sagebrush-rough but always carefully calibrated vocals at the center, the album works on one level as a history of the troubadour figure from the classic-rock era onward, with Combs as charming antihero,” while the Boston Globe recently included Combs in their “10 bands and solo artists to watch in 2015,” asserting, “…an elegant singer and songwriter, spinning gold from tales about heartache and redemption and spirituality—all with a tasteful patina of pop and soul.” Moreover, NPR Music recently debuted the official music video for his song “Nothing To Lose,” declaring, “The video keeps Combs’ music at the center while opening up a flood of associations. It’s a classic performance perfect for right now.” In celebration of the release, Combs is currently in the midst of a winter U.S. tour, including a series of shows with The Apache Relay followed by performances at SXSW and the 2015 Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA. See details below. Produced by Jordan Lehning and Skylar Wilson (Caitlin Rose), All These Dreams was recorded in Nashville with many of Combs’ longtime musical collaborators including lead guitarist Jeremy Fetzer and pedal steel guitarist Spencer Cullum Jr. (of the instrumental duo Steelism) as well as bassist Mike Rinne and drummer Ian Fitchuk. Of the new music, Combs shares, “I feel like this record has a much different thread that ties the songs together. All These Dreams explores more complex arrangements, lyrics and musical tones. Spirituality and songwriting kind of go hand-in-hand to me, in the way that I am constantly searching for something bigger and more meaningful. A song like ‘Slow Road to Jesus’ is about finding redemption, but it’s also about coming to terms with taking the long way to get there.” ALL THESE DREAMS TRACK LIST 1. Rainy Day Song 2.
