Lenny Kravitz, Big & Rich, Julian Casablancas Debuted in Top 50

Newly launched independent distribution company Amped, aptly named after Alliance’s award-winning weekly advertising magazine is quickly making major waves with significant repertoire and even more impressive sales, including six releases on Billboard’s Top 200 chart this week. As artists and labels of all sizes look for new and innovative ways to distribute product, Amped rolled out to offer an alternative distribution system that is having impressive results.

Amped has dramatically expanded its labels reach, not only to retailers large and small, but also directly to consumers. Amped opens up thousands of new avenues for labels and artists to bypass methods used by other distributors and work directly with the largest sales force of any distributor. Simply put, Amped’s unique expertise and execution enables its distributed artists and labels to reach music fans and consumers directly and easily, while being able to have comprehensive coverage with Amped’s retailers large and small; including non-traditional accounts like Urban Outfitters and Guitar Center.

Thanks to this expansive reach and combined with state-of-the-art B2B reporting, Amped has quickly become a new voice in modern distribution.

The wide-ranging scope of Amped’s artists can be seen by it’s offerings from such break-through artists as Lindsey Stirling, Thousand Foot Krutch and Band Of Horses, as well as new power-house releases by Chart-toppers such as Lenny Kravitz, Julian Casablanca and Big & Rich. More heavy hitters are on the horizon, including Paul McCartney’s all-star tribute “The Art Of McCartney”, Maya Angelou, Metallica and Billy Idol. Amped is poised to make its mark for the remainder of 2014.

So, where does this expertise, execution and strength come from? Dean Tabaac heads up Amped, and has over 30 years’ expertise in distribution, including being one of the main architects in the building of Sony’s RED Distribution. Pip Smith, VP of Sales, is a seasoned music veteran who had extensive stints with Ryko, Rounder and DNA. The marketing talents and creativeness come from Jocelynn Pryor, Director of Marketing (Warehouse Music, Borders and TransWorld), and Tony Timpano, also a former Sony/RED Distribution senior executive and veteran music business attorney, heads up the Business and the Legal Affairs/General Counsel role.

Some of Amped’s growing label and artist roster includes Kobalt Music, Cult Records, ToneTree, Light in the Attic, Blackened Recordings, Kartel, Compass Records, Yellow Sound, Smooch Music, MTheory, Nick Cave, Ty Segall, Pretty Lights, Die Antwoord, Rival Sons, Heffron Drive, Hollie Cook, Roadkill Ghost Choir and Sheila E.
