Allan Clarke – HuffPost 10.7.11

Mike Ragogna: Allan, with all of the success and experience that you’ve gained over your life and extensive career, is there any advice you would give to a new artist?

Allan Clarke: (laughs) I suppose it would be the same advice that I am giving to my 18-year-old grandson who is a brilliant guitar player and songwriter. I tell him that the reason it all happened as it did is because I was in the right place at the right time and I was doing it for fun. It just happened to turn into a career without me doing anything to promote it at all. It doesn’t happen like that for everyone. What you’ve got to do is keep your feet on the floor and do the best that you can in anything that you do. Don’t make the music the most important thing and think you’re going to be number one; you have to just enjoy your music and I hope that it can happen for people the way that it happened for me.
