Mike Ragogna: What advice do you have for new artists these days?

Alanis Morissette: That’s it’s totally appropriate to reach out for support. If I could say anything to my twenty-one year-old self, it would be, “You don’t have to insulate.” I appreciated that I needed to kind of hide away, in a sense, in order to protect myself. But at the same time, I realize that I could have benefited from having a lot of people around me that could just pet my head.
